How Rinkclock handles your data: the narration, the console, the sheet and the grading all run in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent to us.

What stays on your device
The narrated periods are generated in the page, the console and the game sheet are drawn in the page, and the grading runs in the page. There is no server side to this site: it is a set of static files. Player numbers and any name you type for a certificate stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Progress, your chosen rule profile, your voice settings and any name you type for a certificate are written to your browser's own local storage, under keys beginning with boxclock. and nowhere else. That means they belong to one browser on one device: they do not follow you to a phone, they are not backed up anywhere, and nobody else can read them. You can export your progress as a JSON file and import it again on another browser. Clearing site data for this site removes it permanently and immediately.
Because there is no account, there is also nothing to delete on our side and no way for us to restore anything you clear. That trade is deliberate. A practice bench for the timekeeper's box does not need to know who you are.
The narrator
Calls are spoken by your own browser's speech engine. Most voices run on your device. Some browsers also offer online voices, and if you choose one of those your browser sends the text of each call, such as "Penalty, home number 7, tripping, minor", to the browser maker's speech service. The voice picker marks online voices, and Rinkclock picks an on device voice by default whenever one exists. The calls are invented and never contain anything about you.
No real games, no real players
Every period is invented for practice. Player numbers are made up, and nothing you write on the practice sheet is an official game record. Do not use Rinkclock to keep the record of a real game.
No accounts
There is no sign up, no sign in, no email capture and no password to lose. Every page on this site is reachable without identifying yourself in any way.
What is collected
No account, no sign in, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics of what you answer. Standard web server logs kept by the static host may record the request for a page, its time, and a network address, in the ordinary way that any web server records a request.
Payments
If a paid plan is ever offered and you buy it, the payment is handled by RevenueCat and Stripe, and an anonymous purchase id is kept in this browser so Rinkclock recognises your plan. Rinkclock never sees your card.
The typeface
Rinkclock is set in Schibsted Grotesk by Bakken and Baeck for Schibsted Media, used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The font file is served from this site with its licence beside it, so no font service sees your visit.
Cookies
Rinkclock sets no cookies of its own, and it carries no advertising or cross site tracking scripts.
Children
The site is written for adults and older teens who keep time at hockey games, and is not directed at children under 13. It asks for no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will appear on this page. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
Contact
Questions about privacy, or a request about your data, go to [email protected]. Since nothing is stored on a server, most such requests are answered by telling you which local storage keys to clear. The daily period and the guide work the same whether or not you ever write in.
